Up to this point, everyone in our class should know the global cultural phenomenon named “Gangnam Style.” The music video released by PSY is now the most-liked YouTube video. To follow a trend in YouTube and also sharpen my video editing skills, I created a mash-up video of “Gangnam Style”, “Party Rock Anthem” by LMFAO, 50 First Dates (Peter Segal, 2004) and The Matrix (Larry and Andy Wachowski, 1999).
Since a mash-up video is an amalgam of different videos, one must pay careful attention to cutting sequences to make smooth transitions. I tried to carefully slide each video frame by frame to choose the most appropriate markers (reference points).
Another thing that one must consider when creating a mash-up video is the size of each video. Unfortunately, although Adobe Premiere does a very good job of standardizing the sequence settings of each video, I still cannot stretch the one in 50 First Dates. I tried the function “Scale to Frame Size” but it did not make a big difference.
Anyway, to spice up the text, here is my result:
