Is The Media Biased?

President Obama(Left) and Mitt Romney(Right)

Millions of people watch the News every day. Right now most of what the news is showing is Political. With the Presidential election right around the corner, people want to know what is going on with President Obama and Mitt Romney. But will it be more biased toward one candidate versus the other?

Is the news media biased toward liberals? Yes. Is the news media biased toward
conservatives? Yes, but not as much. You can find more on this by reading the article Think Political News is Biased? Depends on Who You Ask. This article goes into great details on how and if the media is actually biased.

Republicans strongly believe that there is way more media bias toward the Democratic Party. If President Bush were to say something stupid about the incident that just happened in Egypt, it would be played on the News for a very long time. However, if President Obama were to say something negative, the media would make it seem like it was not a big deal at all.

The Big Three (ABC, CBS, NBC) Wednesday evening newscasts devoted more than 9 minutes to Mitt Romney’s statement criticizing the administration’s handling of the Libyan crisis but spent just 25 seconds on questions regarding Barack Obama’s Middle-East policy. Romney is taking way more criticism for small things and President Obama just gets a small segment.

Not many people realize that the media is so biased. To be honest I did not even know this until my roommate pointed it out to me. I am very surprised that this is happening and I hope that people look at this and really try to not let News change your Political views.
